Towards Self-Greatness: Devotion and Self-Realization

"Persistent devotion to spiritual truth and love allows for the dissolution of resistances." -David R. Hawkins, M.D., PH. D. - Daily Reflections from Dr. David R. Hawkins_ 365 Contemplations on Surrender, Healing, and Consciousness (2022, Hay House)-

Devotion and Self-Realization

In the journey of life, we are often faced with two main challenges: self-realization and the trials of the external world. However, more often than not, we tend to address the problems outside ourselves first without addressing the internal issues that are actually more fundamental. Over time, we learn that the truly effective process is to start by improving ourselves, for that is the core of all meaningful progress.

Devotion is the key to understanding and achieving true self-realization. It involves integrity towards the principles of truth and love. When we choose the path of devotion, the barriers that hinder us from reaching our full potential begin to dissolve. However, this journey is not easy. It requires a turning point in our thoughts and attitudes. We need to change the direction of our characterization from potentially erroneous to true, through dedication and sincere effort.

Often, we get trapped in a mindset that leads us to only alleviate the burdens of humanity in this world. However, if we truly want to bring about significant change, we must first address the core of ourselves. Self-realization, from the lowercase self to the uppercase Self, is the primary foundation for creating genuine change.

The problems in this world will never end if we continue to try to solve them with motives aimed only at alleviating suffering. This world has an inherently imperfect nature, and that means problems will always exist. However, by focusing on true self-realization, we gain the power to create a better world.

The future of the world lies in the development of the true Self. When we reach the pinnacle of self-realization, we not only solve existing problems, but we also become part of a larger solution. We become agents of meaningful change, not just temporary fixes.

So, let's direct our energy and time towards self-improvement, enlarging and expanding our understanding of who we truly are. In doing so, we will have the vitality and strength to bring about real change to this world. Only by improving ourselves can we build a better new world, one filled with love, truth, and goodness.
